The Advantages of Waxing
The honest truth is that despite what it accomplishes, waxing is nobody’s favorite beautification task. It hurts…a lot, sometimes… and can leave behind quite the angry red area, if you have sensitive skin. But most ladies know it’s a necessary evil to convey the blinding beauty that seems easy and effortless. And let’s face it, there are some distinct advantages to waxing as a form of hair removal.
It’s Quick
Okay, so no one said beauty is painless; in fact, someone may have even said that beauty is pain. But in this instance, the pain is at least mercifully quick. Once you apply the wax, it need only sit for a minute (sometimes even less) before the strip placed over it can be pulled — along with all of that pesky hair needing to be removed.
It’s Effective
It may hurt, but you better believe that waxing gets the job done. Few hairs can withstand the coating of wax and the subsequent ripping that follows. In fact, when tweezers simply won’t do, many women turn to waxing because of its level of effectiveness. To ensure the most effective treatment, wax on a consistent schedule of about every three to four weeks.
Longer Results
When you have to wax, you at least have the peace of mind that you won’t have to do it again right away. It’s definitely the pits when you suffer through tweezing today only to find that you have to do it again two days from now. At worst, waxing lasts at least two weeks before you may get the itch to do it again. At best, you can make it an entire month before the need to do it again arises.
It Thins Hair
You gotta love a beauty process that accomplishes more than one thing at a time, and waxing does. In addition to getting rid of unwanted hairs, it also thins hair out a bit. This is great if you have particularly bushy eyebrows or a thick coating of hair along your upper lip. The thinner the hair grows in when you have to wax it, the easier it is to ensure that you’ve gotten it all.
